Why is the Teacher’s Head Covered?
Our spines have a positive and negative polarity. Turbans and head coverings are known to help to manage this energy. They also keep the hair up so the forehead is clear. This helps us to create and maintain a meditative focus at the sixth chakra (third eye) which is located between the eyebrows. Physiologically, the sixth chakra is located at the pituitary gland, otherwise known as the “command gland.” It is the center of intuition, concentration and determination. As teachers, we want clear access to our sixth chakra so we can guide the class to our full potential.
